The exhibition shiny and glossy: strategies of seduction (Art Galerie 7, Cologne, 2008) deals with the cultural impact of colour. The works on 14 possibilities are based on a survey in which around 100 participants took part:
Which ‘possibility’ is associated with which colour? The Beauty / The Artificial / The Eroticism / The Magnificence / The Ideal / The Innocence / The Frenzy / The Magic / The Illusion / The Lie / The Seduction.
colour office
The work colour office deals with synesthesia – in this case, seeing letters in colour. It consists of 30 metal plates in different colours on a metal board, representing the German alphabet. The synesthete whose alphabet is pictured here can form words with the magnetic plates. The colour plates are only legible to him, but not to others.
